Richmond, London
We started our European journey in London and reserved a day for a trip out of the city center to the southwest corner of the city, Richmond. The most surprising discovery that day was that everyone really does love Ted Lasso.
It was a rainy day but that didn’t stop us from venturing out to Petersham Nurseries for afternoon tea. A friend recommended it to us and to stop at the Prince’s Head on the way back to London to see where the pub scenes in Ted Lasso were filmed.
Our first stop was Petersham Nurseries for afternoon tea. We took a train & a bus to get there from our home base in Soho. We had the Garden Afternoon Tea and it did not disappoint, this was our favorite afternoon tea out of the three different places we tried in London. The food was delicious and the setting was casual, yet refined. The grounds are gorgeous and there is a lot of wonderful shopping to be had. This is a definite must do on your next trip to London.
After some tea, the best tea sandwiches ever, and our fill of freshly baked scones (and a little shopping), we then hopped on the bus back towards London and stopped at the Prince’s Head for a brief pitstop. We had no idea we would discover a pub full of Ted Lasso-loving Brits who traveled from various parts of England to have a pint and soak in the spirit of Ted Lasso.
We met so many friendly people, some lived locally and some were in town for a concert (Human League was playing at a venue nearby that evening) and everyone was there in the spirit of Ted Lasso. If you want to go somewhere and be surrounded by happy people who are full of life, definitely stop here. And if you’ve never watched Ted Lasso, put it on your list!
